Application

The Novakone lens is a solution for all forms of keratoconus with the comfort of a soft lens, including cylinder correction until -10.00, together with a simple fitting method. The contact lens is indicated for visual correction for all stages of keratoconus and Pellucid Marginal Degeneration (PMD). The contact lens is also particularly suitable for patients with advanced stages of keratoconus, intolerance to RGP or unsuccessful use of hybrid or scleral lenses.

Fitting advice

When fitting a Novakone, the aim is to optically correct the central affected cornea as well as possible, using the basic curve and a peripheral curve that is as ‘normal’ as possible and sclera fitting equal to the way in which a soft lens is adjusted. Determine whether a correction is necessary on the peripheral fitting, since there is only one DX lens per B.C.R. in the DX set. The use of DX lenses is absolutely necessary to order the correct lenses.
